Build Strong Family Connections

Stronger Family Connections Start with Ready-to-Use Support from Show Me Child Care
Resources

Strong relationships with families are at the heart of quality child care. Families want to understand
what their child is learning, how they are growing, and how to support development at
home. Teachers and directors want to communicate clearly, share helpful information, and build
trust, but finding or creating family-facing resources can take valuable time.

Show Me Child Care Resources makes family engagement more manageable by bringing
ready-to-use communication tools, handouts, templates, and practical resources together in one
place. Members can easily access supports to share information with families, explain
classroom routines, communicate expectations, provide developmental insights, and
connect families to helpful tools without starting from scratch.

These resources support everyday communication in simple, practical ways. A teacher might
use a handout to extend learning into the home. A director might use a template to explain a new policy, classroom routine, or program expectation. Programs can also use developmental resources, milestone tools, and activity ideas to help families better understand what children are learning and practicing each day.

Educators are already using Show Me Child Care Resources to strengthen family
communication. One center director shared that the platform supports parent
communication tools, employee forms, policy templates, and job descriptions. Another family
child care owner noted that having ready-to-share resources helps families stay aligned and better understand available supports. Another director shared that the platform helped strengthen both parent and employee handbooks while creating clearer expectations for staff and families.

Family engagement does not have to be complicated. It can begin with one clear
message, one helpful handout, or one simple activity families can try at home. Show Me
Child Care Resources helps find those supports quickly, allowing more time for
building meaningful connections.

Programs can support families by using tools such as:
1) Parent communication templates.
2) Family handouts and take-home resources.
3) Developmental milestone and child development supports.
4) Classroom routine and transition resources families can reinforce at home.
5) Policy and handbook templates that create clear expectations.
6) Activity ideas that connect classroom learning to home.

When families receive clear, consistent information, they are better equipped to partner with teachers
and support their children’s success. With ready-to-use resources, educators can
communicate with confidence and consistency, even on busy days.

Less searching. More connecting. Show Me how.
