MO DESE Child Care Market Rate Survey 2024 Closes March 31, 2024!

Every three years the state conducts a Market Rate Survey to collect information on the current rates Missouri child care providers charge for services. This survey also collects information about the actual cost of providing child care. The information provided is used in making recommendations for subsidy rates that reflect both the current market rate and the true cost of providing quality child care in your community. 

As a child care professional, your honest answers help to set realistic information on the true cost of child care. Your participation is critical to help the State recommend subsidy rates that better reflect the current market rate, true cost of providing quality child care, and allow for equitable access to quality child care across the state. This year’s survey is also seeking to simplify Missouri’s subsidy rate structure, and your response will help with this process.

Estimated time to complete survey: 30 minutes

The person completing the survey must be familiar with the child care program rates, enrollment and program revenue and expenses. To complete the survey, this person will need bookkeeping and payroll information readily available. If your program has multiple locations or sites, then you would complete a survey for each Department Vendor Number (DVN).

Your participation in completing this survey is voluntary, and your choice to complete this survey will not impact your ability to provide subsidized child care. The survey is through March 31, 2024.
