Social & Emotional Foundations for Learning (SEFL)
The Importance of Self Care (SEFL 6)
Caring for and educating young children is very rewarding yet very hard work. Most days, you are exhausted at the end of the day when it is time to take on the responsibilities of your personal life. For all the support and care you give each day to the children and families, you need to care for yourself. You cannot pour into others from an empty cup. During this session, we will look at the importance of self-care and why resilience in adults is key to caring for young children. We will discuss strategies to build your resiliency and keep your cup full to pour into others.

Creating a Socially and Emotionally Aware Classroom (SEFL 4)
What does a socially and emotionally aware classroom look like? In this training, we will examine some of the components of a socially and emotionally aware classroom. We will discuss temperament and strategies to engage children. In addition, emotional literacy is key to a socially and emotionally aware classroom. We will define emotional literacy and how to best develop it within your classroom.

Strategies for Teaching Social and Emotional Skills (SEFL 5)
The challenging part of implementing strategies for teaching children social and emotional skills is that what may work one day with one child may not work the next day, and what is effective for Miguel is not effective for Daisy. One size does not fit all. This training will provide calming strategies and strategies for teaching children about emotions, empathy, and building friendships.

Routines, Rituals, & Schedules (EC 7)
Why is it important to have a daily schedule? How do routines and rituals fit into your schedule? By understanding the importance of the child’s needs and interests when developing a daily schedule, transitions and activities are much easier. There are key differences between routines, rituals, and schedules that are important for each child and that support social and emotional development. Guiding Children’s Behavior (EC 5)
In Child Safety & Routine Care, you will learn: The steps in proper handwashing; To identify the steps in proper diapering procedure; How to identify readiness signs of toilet learning; The definition of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) and identify behaviors that increase the risk of it; The elements and be able to discuss the safe sleep policy.

An Introduction to Homelessness in Early Childhood (EC 20)
In An Introduction to Homelessness in Early Childhood, we will define the basics of homelessness related to early childhood. We will examine the federal definition of homelessness, review the data, and discuss the effects of being homeless on young children.

While attending Creative Development, you will learn the importance of creativity in a child's development and three essential parts of promoting creative development in children. Each attendee will create one activity to use in the classroom that promotes creativity.

Healthy Eating (EC 14)
During this Healthy Eating training, educators will learn the role that nutrition plays in promoting wellness in children and be able to identify basic guidelines of nutritious meals. Educators will also learn strategies to promote nutrition and healthy eating practices with families.

Emergency Planning (EC 19)
Emergency Planning will equip you with the knowledge you need to plan for any type of emergency, including intruders, earthquakes, missing, lost, or abducted children. Discover ways to keep children calm and engaged during an emergency. Set your child care program up for success through emergency planning and by knowing how to outline your emergency procedure when onboarding new staff. Are you prepared?

This workshop will share the five Rs: how relationships, routines, respect, repetition, and responsive interactions influence a child’s developing brain. Did you know that infants and toddlers are affected by stress too? Learn how you can support the well-being and mental health of these youngest children.

Developmentally Appropriate Practices for Infants and Toddlers (IT 1)
Are you delivering high-quality infant and toddler care in your classroom, center, or family child care home? How do you know? From this workshop, you will learn the importance of developmentally appropriate practices with infants and toddlers and the ten components related to high-quality child care. You will learn how to reinforce the healthy development of infants and toddlers through consistent routines, primary caregivers, and responsive care. After this workshop, you will know what it means to provide high-quality, inclusive care for our youngest children.
