The Apple Crunch is Coming

Answer: 10-15 bushels of fresh, delicious, crunchy apples.

October is National Farm to School Month, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is once again sponsoring the Missouri Crunch Off — a fun way to celebrate local, healthy eating.

Your Crunch Off event can be as big or small as you like! Serve apples or other crunchy fruits and veggies at lunch or snack time, or host a taste test at pick-up, letting children and families vote for their favorites. Events can happen any time in October.

More details will be shared next month. In the meantime, if you have questions, contact Lisa Lauer at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at Lisa.Lauer@health.mo.gov.

Child Care Aware of Missouri will be joining in, so grab an apple and join the CRUNCH!
