NAPSACC Has Simple Activities to Increase Physical Activity

Written by Child Care Aware® of Missouri | Oct 21, 2025 2:53:37 AM

Toddlers are naturally full of energy. It is one of the wonderful parts of being a toddler. Children this age should have at least 90 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day. Giving them time to move isn’t just fun, it is essential for their growth. Physical activity helps toddlers build strong muscles and bones, improve balance and coordination, and support healthy brain development.

Active play also encourages social skills as little ones learn to share, take turns, and interact with others. From running and climbing to dancing or exploring the playground, every move counts!

Even short bursts of activity throughout the day help toddlers develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Let’s celebrate all those wiggles, jumps, and giggles—they’re more than play; they’re building blocks for a healthy, happy future.
