Missouri Providers are Prepared!

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined Child Care Aware® of Missouri’s Emergency Preparedness Networking Sessions. Your participation demonstrates a commitment to keeping children safe and prepared in the face of unexpected events. Over the sessions, we distributed 36 custom emergency kits —directly impacting over 700 children.

Through collaborative planning and sharing of best practices, we’ve seen providers integrate emergency preparedness into their daily routines and create action plans that address real-world challenges.

"Participating in the Emergency Preparedness Peer-to-Peer (PPN) session was a natural choice for me because I believe our utmost responsibility is ensuring the safety of the children we serve. In response to the PPN takeaways, we revamped our emergency preparedness measures and kits. Now, we have weather radios on each floor, already plugged in and tuned correctly. As part of our customized emergency kit, we requested and received a hand-crank weather radio as a backup in case of power failure. We have enhanced our comfort items inventory to include essential and comfort items tailored for specific needs, such as pacifiers for my "paci kids." These changes have improved our readiness and organization, reducing worries about emergencies. We know that our improvements and preparations will effectively carry us through."
