NAPSACC is Back!

Child Care Aware® of Missouri is pleased to announce it was awarded the Missouri Physical Activity and Nutrition-Child Care Support contract (2406) with Department of Health and Services.  NAPSACC is Back!!

As Spring approaches and the weather is warmer, it is a perfect time to join NAPSACC.

Child care centers and family child care homes have found ideas and recipes to make meals and snacks more engaging.  Children who were once picky eaters, are now more adventurous and willing to try new foods.  NAPSACC has the resources to help!

What is Go NAPSACC?

• NAPSACC (Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment Child Care) is an online self-assessment tool created by the University of North Carolina. 
• The purpose of the project is to increase children’s physical activity and nutrition. 
• It looks at best practices for nutrition and physical activity for infants, toddler and preschoolers.
• The NAPSACC has seven sections. But as part of the project, we are asking you to complete only one area. 

How do I get started?

• After registering, you will be assigned a Technical Assistance Specialist. You will not be working alone! Your TA Specialist will give your program one-on-one support to help you achieve your goals. Support is provided through Zoom, FaceTime or similar platform.
• You will complete an online self-assessment the NAPSACC website which takes about 10-15 minutes. 
• Once you have completed the self-assessment, the website and your TA Specialist will help you set goals and create action plans for your program that you can personalize. 
• You must complete two goals to complete the NAPSACC area.
• It is packed with resources and ideas for you to achieve your goals, including new recipes and ideas for fun activities to get children up and moving!

Once you have achieved two of your goals, you will receive a gift from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to celebrate your achievement.
