Find Ideas and More Through Go NAPSACC
Find recipes and more participating in NAPSACC!
Child Care Aware® of Missouri continues to partner with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to support you with strategies and tools to increase children’s physical activity and nutrition. We have a limited number of openings for the group starting in April to participate in this fun, resource-filled opportunity. It is a small project that does not require a lot of time but can produce large results for the children and families in your program.
We will utilize the online self-assessment tool created by the University of North Carolina called the NAPSACC (Nutrition and Physical Activity Self-Assessment Child Care). It compares your current practices to best practices for nutrition and physical activity for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Whether it confirms you are already following best practices or there is room for growth, the children, their families as well as you and your staff reap the benefits of a healthier program.
The NAPSACC has seven sections. However, as part of the project, we are asking you to complete only one section. Completing a module self-assessment takes about 10-15 minutes. Once you have completed the module, the website helps goals for your program that you can personalize. It is packed with resources and ideas for you to achieve your goals, including new recipes!
Click here for additional information on Go NAPSACC.
This is not something you would be working on alone. Your program will have an assigned Technical Assistance Specialist that will provide technical assistance to support you through your journey. Your TA Specialist will give your program one-on-one support to help you achieve your goals. Once you have achieved two of your goals, you will receive a $75 Kaplan gift card from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
If you are interested in participating in the project, please contact Lauri Choate, Director of Training, at lauri@mochildcareaware.org or 314-754-1603.
