Statewide Child Care Resource and Referral Services

Child Care Aware of Missouri has regained the state contract.

Effective February 7, 2025, Child Care Aware of Missouri (CCAMO) regained the state contract for child care resource and referral services, now named the Missouri Childhood Resource and Referral (MCRR) contract. This follows a competitive bidding process where CCAMO had previously lost the contract approximately 18 months ago after holding it for nearly 23 years.

The new, comprehensive MCRR contract involves helping both families and child care providers navigate the subsidy and child care systems. This expanded contract:

  • Provides statewide customer service and navigation for families and child care providers seeking child care subsidy, child care referrals, and community resources.
  • Aids in responding to inquiries from families about child care subsidy assistance and applications.
  • Creates a customer-centric service to improve the success rate of subsidy application submissions.
  • Offers support for child care providers seeking to become licensed or provide subsidized child care.

CCAMO will be working with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Office of Childhood over the next 60 days to transition services from the current vendors. This renewed partnership signifies CCAMO’s continued role in supporting Missouri families and child care providers after a brief interruption in its tenure as the state’s primary resource and referral service provider. We will continue to provide updates as we work through the transitions.
