Missouri Businesses and Partners:

For the past several months, Child Care Aware® of Missouri has been sharing non-policy strategies to address the child care crisis that can be implemented by employers and communities right now with business leaders, workforce and economic development leaders, local Chambers, and HR leaders. We highlight how the lack of child care is impacting workforce recruitment, retention, and workforce migration in addition to the economic impact the lack of child care has had on our economy and quality of life opportunities in communities around Missouri.

We want to be your partner! Are you hosting an event, workforce summit, or a community roundtable discussion to try and tackle this urgent topic, or just want to know what can be done right now? Hint: it does not have to be on-site child care. Let us provide the child care system expertise, so you don’t have to. We can highlight innovative ideas for how employers can take action now to better support their employees’ needs and how to create child care capacity in their community. These strategies require employer and/or community investment in addition to partnering with an intermediary such as Child Care Aware® of Missouri and its local partners. We have the knowledge, child care systems expertise, and fiscal stewardship credibility to make it happen.

Some recent presentations, conversations, and exhibits have included the Taney County Workforce Summit, Missouri Works Initiative, Missouri Chamber Workforce 2023, Society for Human Resource Management State Conference, Associated Industries of Missouri, and the Missouri Economic Development Council. Some of the feedback received includes comments like “Bravo Child Care Aware! This is really smart and a much-needed service to the business community! “-Business Owner, St. Louis and “Wow, you really opened my eyes and presented this information from an entirely different perspective for me. Thank you.” -Resort Manager, Branson

While many advocates, businesses, and Chambers in Missouri support the Child Care Tax Credits as does Child Care Aware of Missouri, we know there is a need to do something right now to bridge the gap! We believe we have some answers.
