A Stronger Workforce Starts with Child Care
Only 16% of working parents receive child care benefits from their employer.
Organizations that offer this support are leading the way in building a stronger, more stable workforce.
New data from ReadyNation https://www.instituteforchildsuccess.org/resources/resource/cost-child-care-crisis-report/ highlights the growing economic impact of child care challenges nationwide. The findings are clear: the child care crisis now costs the U.S. economy $172 billion each year.
These losses appear in workplaces every day through missed shifts, reduced hours, higher turnover, hiring delays, and lower productivity.
Employers that invest in child care solutions are taking proactive steps to reduce these workforce challenges. For many, the return on investment has never been stronger. Child Care Works (CCW) helps employers, families, and communities share the cost of child care through flexible benefit models designed to make care more affordable and support workforce stability. Instead of relying on a single funding source, CCW enables costs to be shared among employers, employees, state, local, and philanthropic partners.
Implemented by Kids Win Missouri in partnership with Child Care Aware of Missouri, CCW is expanding across the state to help communities and businesses develop child care solutions that meet local needs, strengthen labor force participation, and make employer investment more sustainable over time.

Additionally, recent expansions to the 45F Employer-Provided Child Care Credit have further increased the financial incentives available to employers who invest in child care solutions.
