The Department of Elementary and Secondary Office of Childhood is now paying for the cost of an individual’s fingerprinting for the purpose of the required background check for child care providers or staff members who register using the 8897 MACHS registration code. These payments are available through December 31, 2022.

Individuals should follow the detailed instructions linked below on the Office of Childhood’s website to ensure payments are properly processed. For any questions, please contact the Background Screening Unit at [OCBackgroundChecks@dese.mo.gov](mailto:OCBackgroundChecks@dese.mo.gov) or call 573-751-2450, option 2.
