The Crunch Has Arrived!

October is National Farm to School month, and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is once again sponsoring the Missouri Crunch Off — a fun way to celebrate local, healthy eating.

Hosting your Crunch Off event can be as big or small as you like! Serve apples or other crunchy fruits and veggies at lunch or snack time, or host a taste test at pick-up, letting children and families vote for their favorites. Events can happen anytime throughout October.

To help you plan a successful event, check out the Crunch Toolkit that includes:

  • Creative activity ideas
  • Tips for sourcing Missouri-grown produce
  • Easy recipes to try

Want to spread the word about healthy habits? The toolkit also features a press release template to help you raise awareness of your Crunch event.
