Building Active Futures: Go NAPSACC at Kyddie Karnival
Since opening in 2010, Kyddie Karnival Learning Academy has proudly provided 24-hour care to families in North St. Louis County. When owner Brittany enrolled in the Go NAPSACC project, her goal was to achieve MOve Smart recognition and meet every standard with excellence.
With guidance from TA Specialist Shannon Carr, she revised the playground schedule to boost outdoor play—infants now go outside twice daily, toddlers enjoy 60 minutes, and preschoolers benefit from 90 minutes each day. Staff and families were involved every step of the way, helping create a well-rounded culture of activity. The results were impressive: Kyddie Karnival increased its Outdoor Play Best Practices score by an impressive 66%.
Two years later, Brittany remains committed to keeping physical activity a daily priority. “We want to provide every opportunity for the children to be physically active," she shared. Participating in GO NAPSACC helped her think creatively and uncover new ways to enhance the overall health and wellness of her program.
Are you ready to think outside the box? Go NAPSACC provides access to practical tools, strategies, and resources to help child care programs nurture healthy habits for young children.. Registration for the April 2026 Go NAPSACC project is now open. Click here to learn more about the Go NAPSACC project.
