While the need for care has not changed, how families access and maintain support has. One of the most important things families need to understand right now is this: timing matters more than ever. Applications must be fully submitted to be reviewed, and once submitted, they cannot be edited. If additional information is requested, families will have a limited window to respond. Missing deadlines or failing to provide required documents can delay—or even stop—the process altogether. For families currently receiving subsidy, staying on track is critical. A missed renewal can result in a loss of benefits and placement on the waitlist. What This Means Families must be more proactive in managing their child care assistance. Small delays or missed steps can now have a greater impact than before.
