New Start-Up Innovation Grant for Child Care Programs in Missouri

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE), Office of Childhood, is now accepting applications for its Start-Up Innovation Grant, which is designed to support new providers in launching licensed child care programs.

Eligible applicants can receive up to $625,000 in matching funds to help cover essential start-up expenses, including licensing fees, minor facility renovations, equipment purchases, staff training, and workforce incentives.

Application Requirements

To be considered, providers must submit the following:

  • A comprehensive business plan
  • Proof of a submitted child care license application
  • A letter of commitment from a business or community partner

Applications are due November 30, 2025.
