Have you ever considered offering this type of benefit but decided it was too costly? As a child care program, you know these can be meaningful incentives for staff, but they often place additional financial strain on programs that are already stretched thin. Child Care Works (CCW) offers a way for child care programs to provide child care benefits to staff without carrying the cost alone. CCW is based on a shared cost model led by Kids Win Missouri in partnership with Child Care Aware® of Missouri (CCAMO). The program brings together employers, employees, and public or philanthropic partners to share the cost of care while strengthening provider sustainability. Funding for this project was approved through the Governor’s budget specifically for this purpose and does not draw from other funding sources such as child care subsidy. By participating in CCW, programs can improve staff recruitment and retention, ensure more predictable payments, and reduce the financial pressure that comes from absorbing discounts alone. If your program already offers tuition discounts or flexible payment options for staff, CCW allows you to build on that foundation while protecting your financial sustainability.
