**From Data to Impact: Strengthening Missouri's Child Care Systems**

**Article #5: Responding to Crises with Data**

During natural disasters, public health emergencies, or economic downturns, CCAMO’s data team can quickly assess child care availability and coordinate immediate support. For example:\\

- When a disaster closes child care centers, mapping tools help connect displaced families with open programs in nearby areas.
- During public health or economic crises, enrollment and availability data help anticipate where providers may need assistance to remain operational.
- Missouri offers crisis care services in several communities, providing temporary care for children when families face emergencies and helping prevent child abuse or neglect.

By leveraging real-time data, CCAMO ensures that both families and providers receive timely, targeted support during crises, strengthening the overall resilience of Missouri’s child care system.

> “We appreciated the data shared with us on daycare centers open during COVID. The data was helpful and shared with our staff. Thank you!” – Patty Werner, MSN RN, Infectious Diseases Nurse Navigator, SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
